we are having a heat wave here...almost 50 today!

yeah the idiots who own hostess are giving in, yet what they are giving to the upper management in incentives could EASILY cover what concessions the bakers union wanted (if the company is dying NO ONE should be getting incentives, come on people).

jobs....back in the 90's (yes more than 12 years ago) I worked as a grunt in an office as a temp...the rate they were paying back then? ~$10/hour,....fast forward 10 years...the minimum wage has increased (in the 90's it was less than $6...now its almost $8--someplaces almost $9!)...what do you think the wage for that grunt is??? if you guess the SAME you win...so before I was making almost twice minimum wage, now barely $1 more!--and the grunt job wanted you to have a college degree!

its a pretty dang sad state of events. (and I am not planning on going back to work anytime soon either).

It hit 50 today. Supposed to be 60 this weekend. Nothing like welcoming December with 60 degree weather! Very strange...

I'm not gonna speak on the matter of Hostess. I think both sides could have made some concessions in order to stay in business. But ya. That is that I guess.

someone will buy them out (they said they already have LOTS of interested buyers)...but I think the government should have stepped in like they did for the auto industry! I mean more people around the world know what a twinkie is than a le baron!

gonna make a scarf for my hubby for xmas...found some really nice alpaca yarn (he likes alpaca sweaters)...had to remember how to start

...last time I did any knitting was...19...89? when I was teaching a friend to knit left handed (yeah I figured out how to do it leftie before I taught her)....so tis been quite some time! but its like riding a bike...it comes back pretty quickly.

Ya someone will. Went to Wal-Mart yesterday with my fiancee and Wal-Mart had put all the hostess stuff out front right by the cash registers. So people were like freaking out and buying them because they figured they would be all gone soon! Way to cash in on that one Wal-Mart...

I have a scarf. But I don't wear it. Good luck making the scarf cosy.

That is like when I have to tie a tie. I never remember so I check a website first. Then I realize I was doing it right and ya... oh well.

The one I go to is actually a nice one. Which is good. There are a few around that are a bit shady.

dang cant believe its december already...and already a few days in too---guess I need to finish those cards now ....took some of my decorations out...still havent gotten down to the tree yet (its in a box on the bottom of everything)...so possible...next weekend????

December certianly did seem to appear rather quickly. Felt like November took forever to get here then all of a sudden it was December. o.O That is ok I guess.

No decorations here. Might help decorate my parents house this weekend if I go over there.

I am looking forward to this month being over too, got so much stuff all over the place (gifts etc) will be happy to have them gone so I can find things again!....though I also have a lot of *^#@ to do before the end of the month as well, so...I want it to end fast, but only if someone helps me finish everything before that time.

Ya, try 70 and sunny here today. No rain yet though they keep saying that it is supposed to rain. So who knows if it will or not.

I can send you a kit kat bar (the only break I have).

50's are warm enough for december...and I dont really mind rain since it doesnt pile up on the side of streets and cause drivers to say 'oh my I dont remember how to drive in rain, I must do 40 below the speed limit (which is only 40)!!'...cant wait for the first snow and the dumb drivers who forget it snows here for about 4-6 months every year.

50's are really warm for December. Definitely looks like it will be a mild start to December. Supposed to be upper 40's and 50's all week long. Crazy.

I remember a few decembers that started out warm...and ended--

well, cold and/or snowy. (I can remember a christmas that I wore a sleeve-less dress!).

We got loads and loads of snow and -3 degrees celsius here, it's awesome.

well according to "global warming people" we will never have snow ever again.

the planet goes thru cycles of warm and cold (anyone remember those ice age things from history class???), as humans we have VERY LITTLE effect on it (its like .000001%)....these things happen and will continue to happen long after the human race is done for. THOUGH we shouldnt abuse the planet either--some of the craap we leave behind will be around for centuries and wont decay!

I took some of my decorations out...some of them have put themselves up

I agree that we should care about our earth though but to scare people with lies and whatnot is never good about the global warming :P
